The Tokyo International Japanese School (TIJS) was founded in 1983, and has gained a reputation over its 30-year development with over 12,000 students from over 100 countries having studied here.
The academy is located in the heart of the commercial and cultural center of Shinjuku, an area well-known by all people traveling to Tokyo, and is convenient for studying and living as well. At the academy, the international students come from various countries, ages and walks of life, and include not only those who plan to enter universities and graduate schools, but also short-term researchers, company & state employees working and living with host families in Japan, as well as students who are married and currently living in Japan.

The Long Term Course is designed for students that wish to enter a Japanese university, graduate or vocational school. This course is offered to students of various levels, who have at least passed JLPT N5. Students will receive a student visa for this course, which is why the registration deadline is 6 months before the intake.
