School Introduction

The Tokyo Communication Arts (TCA) Technical College follows Three Educational Guidelines, which are: Vocational Education, Human Education, and International Education.

With a belief that in order to develop the talent that is needed in the industry, the student must work alongside the industry, TCA has practiced an "academia-industry collaborative education" since its establishment in 1988 by providing programs that work in close cooperation with companies, and by doing so has been successful in producing students that become immediately effective in the professional creative industry after graduation.

TCA stands behind its excellent professional education with a 3-year and 4-year curriculum that fosters a real & rich creativity based on the beauty of human ingenuity. This school is for the student who wishes to develop him or herself as a creator of the future.

Support whenever you need it: The school offers support to its students through consultation about daily school life from a team of responsible staff, in addition to professional instructors who guide and support students’ studies.

School Location

Nishikasai, where TCA is located, is a quiet and safe residential area of Tokyo. It offers a peaceful environment for studying and living, while being close to downtown Tokyo with excellent public transportation access.

Around the school, you will find many restaurants, cafes, grocery stores and stores for easy shopping and dining. There are also parks and green spaces where you can relax and take a walk after class. Just a short walk from the school, you will find Kasai Rinkai Park, which is Tokyo’s largest waterfront park, offering a breathtaking view of Tokyo Bay. You can also enjoy the Tokyo Disney Resort, which is only 15 minutes by train from Nishi-Kasai Station.

Nishikasai is a district of Edogawa-ku, known for its annual festivals, the most famous of which is the Tokyo Bay Fireworks Festival, taking place every summer and attracting thousands of visitors. All in all, students can enjoy a peaceful and convenient environment to study and live in, while having easy access to Tokyo’s entertainment and events.

Course Description

Step into the future with the cutting-edge Super Technology World 4-years Majors at TCA. Whether you’re interested in exploring the intersection of design and technology or creating innovative solutions using the latest software tools and techniques, Super Technology World got you covered.

In the Design & Technology Master Major, you’ll dive into the world of product design and engineering, learning how to use the latest CAD software and 3D printing technology to bring your ideas to life. Meanwhile, the Mechanical Designer & CG Master Major will teach you the principles of mechanical engineering and computer graphics, equipping you with the skills you need to create stunning 3D models and animations.

If you’re passionate about visual storytelling, the Comic Illustration Master Course will teach you how to craft compelling narratives and bring them to life with high-quality artwork. You’ll learn about character design, storyboarding, and panel layout, as well as the latest digital art tools and techniques.

Global Opportunities

As part of the Super Technology World, students have the opportunity to study abroad for six months at the prestigious Strate School of Design in Paris, France. This experience provides exposure to different cultures, design perspectives, and business practices, helping to prepare students for success in a globalized world.
Business Experience

In addition to coursework, students also have the opportunity to gain long-term internship experience at KEN OKUYAMA DESIGN, a leading design firm in Japan. Super E-Entertainment World

Course Description

The “Super E-Entertainment World” 4-years Majors provides students with a comprehensive education in the video game industry and related fields. Graduates will have both the knowledge and technical know-how to pursue careers in many fields, from game design and development to data analysis, animation and visual effects.

The Games Graphics & Illustration Master Major is designed for students who are interested in creating the visual elements of video games, including character design, environments, and animations. There, students will learn about the latest techniques and technologies for creating high-quality game graphics, and will develop skills in 2D and 3D art and animation.
The Game Programmer, Planner & VR Master Major is focused on the technical aspects of video game development, including programming, game design, and virtual reality (VR) development. If you choose this major, you will learn about the latest programming languages and tools used in the video game industry, and will develop skills in game design, planning, and VR development.
The Game/Video Data Scientist Master Major is designed for students who are interested in using data analysis and machine learning to understand player behavior and optimize game performance. Students will learn about data science techniques such as machine learning, data mining, and statistical analysis, and will apply these techniques to real-world game data.
The VFX/CG/Video Master Course focuses on the technical aspects of visual effects (VFX), computer graphics (CG), and video production. AI & IT Technology World

Course Description

The AI & IT Technology World 4-years Majors at TCA provides students with a comprehensive education in some of the most exciting and rapidly evolving fields in technology today. Students will gain the theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and hands-on experience they need to succeed in a variety of careers in these fields, from software development to data science to virtual reality design.

The program offers three majors focused on cutting-edge technologies that are revolutionizing the way we live and work.

The AI Engineer major prepares students to work with artificial intelligence systems, including machine learning and deep learning technologies. Students will learn about the theoretical foundations of AI, as well as practical skills for developing and deploying AI systems in a variety of contexts.
The IT Engineer major is designed for students who are interested in the technical aspects of information technology, including network design, security, and database management. This major offers a broad-based education in computer science and information technology, with a focus on practical skills for solving real-world problems.
Finally, the Metaverse Designer major is focused on the emerging field of metaverse design, which involves creating virtual worlds and immersive experiences that integrate virtual and physical environments.
