Kudan Japanese Cultural Research Institute welcomes up to 40 students monthly, mainly from Europe and North America, to study Japanese and explore Japanese culture. The school fosters a deep understanding of Japan through cultural exchanges and unique educational experiences. With bright classrooms, spacious corridors, and friendly teachers, Kudan provides a comfortable environment. Located near multiple train stations and universities, it offers easy access to bookstores, shops, and other amenities in a vibrant area.

Japanese Conversation Course

This course focuses on Japanese conversation practice. Students will learn to speak on various topics and in different situations. At the intermediate level (Conversation III) and above, the course introduces useful expressions for working in Japan.

Practical Course for Beginners
(Short-Term)

This 4-week course is for complete beginners to practice hiragana and katakana while learning essential vocabulary and phrases for daily life in Japan. It focuses on building practical Japanese language skills for living in Japan.

In collaboration with Mangajuku!, this course combines manga drawing with Japanese language study. Learn from professional manga artists and bilingual coordinators, suitable for all skill levels.
 

Japanese Cooking Course

Learn to cook Japanese dishes like sushi, udon, and bento while studying Japanese. Discover Japanese culinary traditions and dietary rules.
 

Tea Ceremony Short Course

Take Japanese and tea ceremony lessons (Bonryakutemae) together. Learn tea preparation, ceremony etiquette, and receive a certificate upon completing the eight-session course.

Seasonal Courses

Summer Holiday Course

The school offers 3 Summer Holiday Courses to students who want to gain situational & conversational Japanese language skills in a relatively short period of time. In addition to morning Japanese lessons, some of the afternoon & day activities offered in the programs include visits to: ・Edo-Tokyo Museum ・Tokyo City Tours ・Tokyo Dome City Attractions (theme park) ・Sushi-making ・Lunch Buffet ・Tea Ceremony ・Tokyo Sky Tree ・Hakkeijima Sea Paradise ・Karaoke

The school also offers students the option of staying with a local homestay family, or being set up in a student or private dormitory. The school also offers its students airport pickup service upon their landing in Japan. Lastly, on the second day of study, all students are given their very own Yukata (Summer Kimono), which are traditional Japanese summer wear usually characterized by bright colors to match the season!

Spring Holiday Course

Kudan spring course is a package program where students not only learn Japanese but experience the culture through activities like the tea ceremony, dressing in Hakama and visiting historic places like shrines as well as modern structures like the Tokyo Skytree for a broad Japanese experience.
