IAY’s campus was established in 1969 in Sapporo. It became a pioneer among the Japanese language schools in Hokkaido. This school offers students wishing to enter a Japanese higher education institution the support they successfully enroll, but also teaches practical Japanese to students that want to learn the language for their daily life in Hokkaido.

This school is located in center district and close to Susukino area, which is known as one of Japanese famous amusement district. Additionally, you also have a nice access to not only daily convenient facilities such as 7-11, McDonald’s , and other fast food places, but also a botanical garden and Cultural Arts Theater. The nearest station of the IAY Ischool is the Odori Station, which is located near many famous attractions of Sapporo such as the TV Tower, Clock Tower and the large Odori park.
The location is also only a 1-minute walk to the park where the annual Snow Festival is held in February every year, where students can enjoy the wonderful scenery of the snow country with the indigenous people of the land.
