Nagoya YMCA helps students gain insights into both other cultures and their own through the study of the Japanese language, with the aim of contributing to a society where diversity in religion, beliefs, race, nationality, culture, and gender is embraced. Teacher Expertise

The teaching team comprises experienced educators with a wealth of knowledge, as well as motivated, young instructors who bring creativity to their classes. The school  fosters continuous improvement by conducting regular meetings to share teaching challenges, ensuring our students receive a high-quality education. Notably, one of the teachers is an author of ‘Theme-detsu Chukyu kara manabu nihongo santeiban workbook’ and ‘Theme-detsu Jyokyu de manabu nihongo santeiban workbook’.

General Japanese Course - Student Visa

A variety of elective courses, allowing students to personalise their Japanese language learning experience based on their interests and objectives. These choices enable tailored learning paths, ensuring each student’s unique needs are met.

 

Students attend 4 classes a day, each lasting 45 minutes. Students can choose from elective options, allowing them to customise their Japanese language journey to suit their individual interests and aspirations.

Monday to Friday : 

  • Morning : 9:00 to 12:30

5 days/week, 4 classes/day, 40 weeks/year, 45 minutes/class

  • Role-Playing Speech:

    Students actively participate in role-playing speech exercises, which enhance language skills by immersing them in practical, real-life situations. Role-playing speech promotes confident communication, cultural understanding, and effective language application.

  • 4 Levels (Beginner, Intermediate, Intermediate-Advanced, Advanced):

    The program is structured into four proficiency levels, guiding learners from basic to advanced language skills. This tiered approach ensures that students receive targeted instruction suited to their current proficiency level.

  • Need N5 to apply or 150 Hours:

    Students required to demonstrate proficiency equivalent to JLPT N5 or complete approximately 150 hours of prior language instruction.

General Japanese Course Short Term - Non Student Visa

Visa 

A prerequisite is having a valid visa with a duration of three months or more is needed.

 

Admission

For those planning to start in April or October, a prior knowledge of hiragana and katakana. 

On the other hand, if you intend to join in July or January, you should have completed the first half of the beginner textbook, such as Minna no Nihongo 1, Daichi 1, or Marugoto Beginner 1-A2.
